What this quote means is that if you have good character it pays off.If you do good things good things might happen in return.If you don't have good character it will not pay off it will just ted to get worse and worse.Everyone has intelligence others have more intelligence than others but everyone is some type of smart.No matter how bad you might be everyone is smart in their own way. Ralph Waldo Emerson believes that there is some type of smart in everyone.
